Guaíba is an integrated production unit located in southern Brazil's Rio Grande do Sul state. It controls 210,000 hectares of forest lands, already 60% planted with Eucalyptus; a nursery with the ability to produce 30 million plants each year; a production line for Hardwood Bleached Pulp (BEKP); and a Printing and Writing (P&W) paper mill. Its production capacity comes to 1,765,000 tons of pulp and paper each year.

CMPC purchased the unit in December 2009 from. The acquisition included environmental permits and licenses to incorporate a second BEKP pulp production line with capacity to produce 1,300,000 ADt/year.

Products from the Guaíba mill are certified under the CERFLOR-PEFC Chain of Custody along with the FSC Chain of Custody certification since December 2010.
