Santa Fe is the largest Bleached Eucalyptus Kraft pulp mill in Chile with production capacity of 1,310,000 ADt/year. It is located 500 km south of Santiago in Bío Bío region.
This CMPC Pulp mill began operating in 1991. It currently houses two production lines that meet the most stringent environmental standards for the industry in the world. In 2009, it launched a project to make improvements that boosted production capacity on Line 2 from 780,000 ADt/year to 1,120,000 ADt/year by 2012.
The pulp produced at this mill has received CERTFOR-PEFC Chain of Custody certification, along with the FSC Chain of Custody certification since December 2008.
Both standards demonstrate excellent management in terms of wood purchasing, the process of acquiring pulp and its sales on international markets.
